Trish Smith

Trish brings more than 25 years of experience to her role as Chief Human Resources Officer of MainStreet Bank. She fuels the organization’s growth by attracting, developing, and retaining talent, and she fosters a vibrant and inclusive corporate culture in which employees feel valued and empowered to succeed.

Trish excels at aligning human capital strategies with business objectives. She is a member of the executive leadership team and offers many insights that elevate decision-making and drive the company forward. Beyond her strategic acumen, Trish embodies the qualities of empathy and compassion that are essential for effective HR leadership.

Having spent her entire career in community banking, Trish has a deep understanding of the opportunities community banks offer employees and strives to achieve a high level of employee engagement. She spearheads the bank’s volunteerism and community giving efforts and works across the organization to keep morale high and provide employees with paths to grow.

Trish began her HR career as a recruiter, and steadily advanced to overseeing the entire HR function. She was Senior VP and Director of Human Resources at another Northern Virginia community bank before joining MainStreet Bank in 2014.

An active member of the Virginia Bankers Association, Trish serves on its HR Committee, advocates for its educational programming for bankers, and regularly hosts high school students at MainStreet Bank for the VBA’s annual Bank Day event. She is also highly involved in her children’s schools and sports teams, volunteering time and talent regularly to multiple organizations.

Trish earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Capella University and regularly participates in continuing education opportunities to stay up to date with the latest developments impacting the workplace.
