Raj Periyapatna

Throughout his banking career, Raj Periyapatna has excelled in core banking positions in branch management, treasury management, commercial banking, and relationship management. He ties together all these skills and more at MainStreet Bank, advocating for his clients while working tirelessly to meet their financial needs. He works with clients of all types and sizes and has particular strength in construction lending.

Raj joined MainStreet Bank in 2019, and he currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Senior Business Banker. He is an engineer-turned-banker who now puts his critical thinking, analytical abilities, and number crunching ability to work on behalf of MainStreet Bank clients. He helps his customers analyze their business and personal finances to determine the best suite of customized products and services to bring their goals within reach.

A graduate of VET Bangalore in India, Raj holds a degree in electronic and communication engineering. He has deepened and broadened his education since moving to the United States more than 15 years, ago, continuing his studies at Northern Virginia Community College and the University of Maryland University College. 

Raj is a strong believer in creating lifelong relationships with his team and clients, and he finds that this mindset is in sync with MainStreet Bank’s approach. He is actively involved in a number of business networking activities including local Chambers of Commerce, as well as volunteer efforts in various organizations in the community.
