Thomas Cary
Thomas Cary has been a leader at MainStreet Bank since 2009 and is now Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development. He spearheads the Business Bankers, guiding and inspiring this front-line team to deliver tailored solutions to companies and organizations across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
In a banking career spanning more than 30 years, Tom has amassed extensive financial services knowledge, which he now leverages to direct his team. He infuses the Business Bankers with a passion for exceeding customer expectations and coaches them to be partners with their customers to deliver the best possible experience. The Business Bankers benefit from his well-honed instincts for helping customers improve cash flow, manage transactions, and determine any credit needs that may arise.
Tom has been involved with numerous nonprofit organizations, and he appreciates that MainStreet Bank is as dedicated as he is to remaining community- and customer-focused. He encourages his team to volunteer within the community to deepen and enhance relationships with customers and prospects. He currently serves on the board of the Barber Family Foundation, which provides scholarships to children of active military and Gold Star families.
A Fairfax County native, Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from George Mason University. He makes it a priority to create opportunities for his team to strengthen their own knowledge of the rapidly changing banking landscape through continuing education and training.
